The Area Agency on Aging is offering three, free, 6-session workshops in October in Manistee at the hospital in Manistee. Creating Confident Caregivers:   Six-session, evidence-based program designed to help family caregivers of someone living with memory loss at home.  Provides tools, strategies and activities to build the caregiver’s skills and knowledge.  Stress reduction and self-care is emphasized.  Respite care may be available. Wednesdays, Oct 16-Nov 20   10am-12:00 Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital Education Center, Classroom 2 Diabetes PATH:   Six-session, evidence-based program that uses interactive education, a variety of self-management tools (such as monitoring, menu planning and stress reduction) and weekly goal-setting to empower participants to take a more active role in managing prediabetes or diabetes. Wednesdays, Oct 16-Nov 20 1:30-4:00 pm Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital Education Center, Classroom 2 Chronic Pain PATH: Six-session, evidence-based program that uses interactive education, a variety of self-management tools (relaxation techniques, planning and pacing) and weekly goal-setting to empower participants to take a more active role in managing their chronic pain. Congregate Meals

Congregate Meals

The Senior Nutrition Staff, part of the Meals on Wheels program, serves lunch at noon, Monday through Friday, in the dining room of the Manistee Senior Center. The senior center is located at 457 River Street in downtown Manistee. This meal is available to people of all ages. Suggested donation for seniors age 60 or older is $3.00. Cost for people under 60 is $5.00.
